Alaska Cruise to Benefit Home Hospice 2005

August 15-22, 2005

Introduction

My mother passed away in May of 2004. Home Hospice of Grayson, Fannin and Cooke Counties helped our family care for my mother as she passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family. To show my gratitude, I arranged this Alaska Cruise to serve as a fund raiser for this wonderful organization. After much anticipation, the trip is finally at hand.

I can't believe today is finally here. I've been planning this trip for close to a year and it's finally here. The nonstop flight from Dallas to Anchorage was completely uneventful. They showed two movies, "Because of Winn Dixie" and "Monster in Law". We have checked in at the Hampton Inn at Tudor and C in Midtown. Apparently we have the last remaining room. Although the hotel had it as a non smoking room, it is clearing a smoking room, even down to the ashtrays and the burn marks on the night stand. I'll be seeing how serious they are about the 100% Satisfaction Guarantee in the morning. They say if you're not 100% satisfied, they don't expect you to pay. I've already been down to see if they can put us in another room and they can't.

I'd better sign off. The time at home is 2:27am and I need to sleep!
