Still contemplating where you’d like to take the kids for summer vacation or spring break? Consider these top family vacation spots:
Walt Disney World: You would expect this this classic to appear in any list of family vacation spots, right? There’s a good reason for that. No one does a family vacation like Disney. Not only that, taking your children to a Disney theme park is a rite of passage in America. If you haven’t done it yet, you’d better get to planning or “they” just might revoke your parent card.
Azul Hotels: Three hotels in the Riviera Maya in Mexico. Paradise on earth. From the website:
Azul Sensatori Hotel caters to families with teenagers and kids, as well as romantic couples and groups of friends. It’s located 20 minutes from Cancun International Airport, and offers guaranteed family connecting suites, adults-only and premium sections, and unique suites with a heated Jacuzzi in the lazy river off the terrace.
Azul Beach Hotel is an intimate, boutique-style property located on a gorgeous beach just 20 minutes from Cancun International Airport. With 98 rooms, it especially caters to families with infants. Beach and pool butlers will pamper you here.
Azul Fives Hotel is our newest resort, and is located just 10 minutes from charming Playa del Carmen. It features enormous suites – up to three bedrooms with rooftop decks, perfect for private barbecues. This multi-generational hotel is excellent for reunions.
Club Med: Still thinking of Club Med as a swinging singles resort of the 60s? Then you haven’t seen Club Med lately. This worldwide phenomenon is all grown up and ready to welcome your family. At the clubs that specialize in families you will find amazing facilities even for the youngest guests. (Babies are welcomed in the baby club starting at 4 months old!) A day for your child at Club Med isn’t just making sand castles, either. Club Med attracts a very international crowd and the GO’s are an amazing group of people who will transform your vacation into an experience you’ll take with you always.
Royal Caribbean Cruise Line has partnered with Dreamworks Entertainment to bring characters such as Shrek and Fiona on board on certain sailings. During the sailing they have various activities with the characters including meals. How often do you get to take a vacation with a real ogre? (No, I don’t mean your brooding teenager.)
Family vacations can be tricky. You have many people to please and those people sometimes want completely different experiences on vacation. A trained professional can help you navigate the minefield.

When we started to think about how we would celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary we considered a family vacation. The problem what type of vacation would be suitable for all family members, especially with the ages of the grandchildren running from 6 years to 16 years. We decided on a Caribbean Cruise on a family friendly ship. One of the best decisions we made. The ship offered a host of activities that met the needs of all age groups and had a suite that accommodated the entire family. And the Caribbean Ports of Call provided an ample choice of shore excursions that pleased all
One of the most memorial shore excursion was to Dunn’s River Falls in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. My grandson thought we were going to just see the Falls but was ecstatic to discover on our arrival that we would be climbing the Falls. It was truly a family adventure since we were required to hold hands and climb the Falls together, helping each other in making the climb creating a great family experience.
In Georgetown, Grand Cayman we all participated in different excursions. Some went snorkeling, others to the turtle farm and swimming with the stingrays while we toured the Island
Our last port of call Cozumel, Mexico gave us the opportunity to swim with the Dolphins, and spend some time at the beach.

Another highlight that we did not expect was that the grandchildren enjoyed dressing for the formal nights.
